Lighting modernization for enhanced well-being in Copenhagen's prime location

The Danish pension fund ATP upgraded its office spaces in the Christiansbro complex in Copenhagen to enhance workplace comfort and achieve sustainability objectives. The focus was on supporting the human biorhythm through Human Centric Lighting (HCL) and an energy-efficient renovation without altering the existing acoustic ceiling. The challenge: a lighting solution that seamlessly integrates into the architecture while simultaneously meeting the WELL Building Standard.

Custom lighting solution with Tunable White and sensor technology

Zumtobel developed a tailored lighting solution with PANOS infinity downlights in a Tunable White configuration. These allow for dynamic adjustments to colour temperature based on the time of day, supporting the employees' natural biorhythm. Integrated ED-EYE and ED-SENS sensors automatically regulate the lighting based on daylight and presence, maximising both comfort and energy efficiency as a result.

Spacious, modern entrance area with tall glass fronts, light stone floors, and elegant seating areas. Several individuals walk through the light-filled lobby, which is adorned with plants and art pieces.

Over 5,000 PANOS infinity luminaires for the highest light quality.

More than 5,000 PANOS infinity luminaires were installed as part of the renovation. They are characterised by a high luminaire efficiency of up to 129 lm/W and a colour rendering index of 95 CRI. By using these luminaires, the illuminance was increased from 200 to 300 lux, while simultaneously reducing power consumption by 40%. The luminaires were accurately colour-matched to the existing acoustic ceiling to ensure harmonious integration.

Sustainable technology and individual customisation for maximum efficiency

Zumtobel developed tailor-made cover rings specifically for this project to integrate the new luminaires into the existing ceiling without making any modifications. The combination of Tunable White technology, intelligent sensor systems, and high energy efficiency not only contributes to sustainability but also meets the requirements of the WELL Building Standard. This modernisation not only enhances lighting quality but also improves employee well-being.
Bright transitional corridor with wooden flooring, modern metal railings, and large window areas that allow plenty of daylight to enter. At the end of the corridor, there is a glass door that leads into another section of the building.

"With the new lighting solution, we are creating a work environment that enhances both the productivity and well-being of our staff."
